Deb White

Deputy Cancer Theme Leader and Director of Cancer Research at SAHMRI, Deb has developed new assays to detect children with high-risk leukaemia. Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) is the most common childhood cancer and the biggest non-traumatic killer of our young. With her research team, Deb has developed a testing platform to accurately identify patients (children and also adults) with high risk ALL. This platform also enables the selection of rationally targeted therapies for each patient (personalised medicine) with the ultimate aim of significantly improving the currently very poor treatment outcomes for these patients.
